Cavities Filled, New Year Celebrated at Logan’s Roadhouse

12/31/13 Tuesday at Clermont, FL (Orlando-TT)

Got ourselves to the dentist before 9:30 am. I had 2 small cavities filled. I’m very impressed with this office (Advanced Dental Care) and my dentist, Dr Hemita Klose DMD  (at Apopka Vineland Rd).  The office is close to the Disney complex, in case you’re vacationing here and have any dental emergencies.   She’s young, kind and from Africa. She arrived as a young girl on the airplane, on a snowy December day, at Prosser, WA. Culture shock for all involved. It was fun making that Washington State connection. I was impressed with their efficiency at our last visit and found it to be the same with this one. I wasn’t left to wait except for when the Novocain needed time to engulf my nerves. Even then, the assistant asked if I wanted to watch TV during that time (I was happy just reading). By the way, I was most impressed with how Hemiat gave me the Novocain shot and how well it kept all pain away while she worked on my teeth. On top of all that, John was astounded that I was ready to leave in ½ an hour.  Besides this efficiency, I think they delivered excellent care.

Next errand, the Post Office, which happened to be on the other side of the campground. Christmas again, in the form of our home mail which included Christmas greetings. Plus 2 pair of jeans that Joe sent from my clothes at home. I thought I’d be wearing way more shorts, but there are plenty of cool mornings and evenings where we go it seems.

In the afternoon I worked on transferring photos from cameras (3) to my computer and then organizing them until 3:00 pm when we went to Bill/Susan’s and Larry/Gail’s for drinks before we went out for dinner a bit after 4pm.

What a dinner that was! Logan’s Roadhouse has a special if you come between 3pm and 5pm on a Monday through Wednesday: 2 entrees and 4 sides, that is each person gets their choice of entree and 2 sides for a total price of $13.99. Not only was this a great deal cost wise, but the food was excellent (I had Tilapia – wonderfully cooked) and of very generous portions. Several of us had to take some home.

Back at the campground, we enjoyed fun times around the campfire until bedtime struck. We were going to watch the Disney fireworks from the lake at the campground, but by the time they were to go off (8:30 pm), it was pouring rain. It didn’t sound like so much fun then. So we had more time to share stories.

About Patricia Elser

I've always loved the loose, flowing, transparent look of watercolors, of Chinese paintings and their calligraphy, but alas, no watercolor classes were available when I was in school, so that interest remained buried until my children were grown. Even then, I was afraid that I couldn't really paint, so upon my sister's advice, I actually started to take classes. I signed up for every class available, determined to learn no matter how afraid I was. I came upon a teacher, Stan Miller, who inspired me, who opened the door to success in watercolor. I love to look at beautiful images. I want to capture them forever. All my life, photography was how I gathered images of the beauty I saw. Thanks to all that photography, I enjoy composing pictures, especially up close. Watercolors allow me to add more of me in their translation of that beauty. My paintings reflect my love for music and dance, with their rhythm and flow. I am fascinated by the play of light, so it appears in my pictures as drama for they are filled with darks and lights. Maybe it's the challenge, maybe it's the beauty, but now, when a work comes together, it fills my soul.

I think I will try that Dentist. Did it take you long to get in? We are at Three Flags until Sunday and then will be in Orlando Jam 12 – 25th.
